Sing Loud For All To Hear

Blog Post #224

One of my favourite things about Christmas is the beautiful music that can be heard everywhere during this festive season.

I love all the pop songs like — It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Silver Bells, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and Deck the Halls. But the music I like best are the traditional Christmas hymns and classical pieces that are played in churches, concerts and on the radio through Advent up until Christmas Day.

Hymns such as Silent Night, Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming, Mary, Did You Know, Handel’s Messiah, and Bach’s Magnificat fill me with a sense of awe and wonder.

One hymn that I find especially beautiful, breathtaking and powerful is O Come, O Come Emmanuel and one of my favourite renditions of this hymn is sung by Enya.
