Blog Post #172
Sun rises and sets
another week unfolded
Haikuesday again
Wait, what???!! Tuesday already? A week gone by in a flash — amazing… where did the time go?
I cannot believe that it is Haikuesday already — but you know what they say — time flies when you are having fun!
Thinking back, I cannot figure out why it feels as if “time flew ” this past week. I wasn’t any busier than usual, nothing out of the ordinary happened and the past seven days were filled with normal, common place, mundane events — work, chores and leisurely down time, you know — like that. As Shakespeare said “the swiftest hours, as they flew.”
The poetry above is my attempt at a little haiku humour. Below are poems from two Japanese haiku masters.
The first day of the year:
thoughts come – and there is loneliness;
the autumn dusk is here.

My life,
How much more of it remains?
The night is brief.

Now that’s haiku!
