A Lighthearted Look — The 3 Things on The Web This Week

10 Jul

Blog Post #91

I thinking that some levity would be great right about now. Something funny and/or heartwarming to renew my faith in humanity and appreciate the lighter side of life.

Here are the three funniest things I saw on the internet this week.

“Listen, Linda! Linda, listen to me!”

I am sure that you have seen this video of little Matteo arguing with his mom, Linda. I LOVE this adorable kid and the video never fails to make me smile (and laugh out loud!)

The Internet Loves Cats

One of the most popular creature you will find on the web is the cat. All kinds of cats doing all kinds of things. The world can’t get enough photos, videos, gifs and memes featuring our feline friends and their crazy antics.

This photo (from the website I Can Has Cheezburger?) resurfaced on my newsfeed today. I have to admit that I find it incredibly funny.

There is Hope For Love

I read this inspiring story on one of my favourite websites: Upworthy

The story centres around a Christian group in Minnesota that is making headlines with their Blessed Ramadan campaign. A multi-denomination group of Christian churches, the Minnesota Council of Churches, encourages their members to place signs on their yards wishing their Muslim neighbours a blessed Ramadan, the holy month in when Muslims focus on prayer, fasting, and charity.

With this simple action, these Christians in Minnesota and across the US are leading the way  to forge interfaith relationships with their Muslim neighbours at a time when discrimination and bigotry are rising in America.
