Blog Post #90
I truly believe that love IS the answer. Even in the aftermath of all that has transpired over the last few weeks, I still believe in love.
But my heart hurts more with every new tragedy, every harsh word, every condemnation, every action, every reaction and every lost life.
How do we begin to change the world — to transform an idea into reality? These problems our world faces today are not new — we have been subjugating, oppressing, hating, and killing each other since the dawn of time. What can any of us do to stop the hatred, the violence? Is it hopeless?
This quote, from the Talmud, that I read on a friend’s Facebook status, offers some wise words:
Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now.
Love mercy, now. Walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the
work, but neither are you free to abandon it.
