Have you seen Suits? An American legal drama (dramadey?) that centers around a cast of hot shot lawyers who close high-powered corporate cases all the while trying to keep a big secret from potentially damaging the firm.
Harvey Specter, one of New York’s top corporate lawyers, while interviewing for a new associate, hires Mike Ross, a brilliant college dropout — despite the fact that he does not have a law degree. Mike, with his street smarts and photographic memory, proves to be an invaluable asset to Harvey.
The seriously funny cast includes: Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), hot shot senior partner at Pearson Hardman, Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) Harvey’s genius associate, Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres), powerhouse name partner of Pearson Hardman, Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) devious associate lawyer, who loves the law, ballet and cats, Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty), Harvey’s razor-sharp assistant and Rachael Zane (Meghan Markle) as the firm’s top-notch paralegal.
What I love most about this show are the characters and their relationships with each other. I love all the characters on Suits, but the three I adore the most are: Donna — the ultimate assistant — cool, smart, and charismatic, Harvey Specter — the slick, hotshot lawyer, he dresses impeccably, is incredibly intelligent and plays to win, that swagger, and Louis Litt — yes, he’s smarmy, but his confidence, dogged ambition, and his gullibility leads to hilarious scenes — you just can’t help but have a soft spot for the guy!
Rated 77% by critics and 92% by the audience on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, Suits is a clever, sassy show that doesn’t fail to entertain. A strong cast of characters that is witty, sharp and funny with great chemistry. Subtle humour, sharp dialogue and a creative story line make this show a must watch. I recommend it.
